*Casteel and COA have different courses approved by the NCAA. Keep this in mind when registering for classes.

Want to Compete at an NCAA School?
1. Create an NCAA Eligibility Center Account: click here
- Free Profile Page Account: Good for Freshmen and Sophomores
- Academic and Athletics Certification Account: Good for Sophomores being recruited, Juniors and Seniors. *This account is needed to play at a D1 or D2 NCAA school. $110 registration fee.
2. Know the academic standards for D1 and D2 initial eligibility (students attending an NCAA D3 school do not need an NCAA Eligibility Center account):
3. Meet with the NCAA counselor to ensure you are taking the correct classes for NCAA eligibility.
- Language classes taken in Jr. High DO NOT count towards credit for NCAA eligibility (Jr. High credits do not count towards high school credit in CUSD). Two language classes or other NCAA approved elective classes must be taken in High School to fulfill eligibility requirements.
4. Research colleges you are interested in attending.
5. Ensure you are staying on track by following the NCAA Timeline.
NFHS/NCAA Course on Initial Eligibility
In collaboration with the National Federation of State High School Associations, the NCAA Eligibility Center and NFHS have partnered to create a course to educate on NCAA initial-eligibility requirements. This course is designed to educate high school coaches, administrators and parents about the NCAA's initial-eligibility standards. After completing the course, participants will be aware and prepared to advise student-athletes about initial-eligibility standards, as well as the steps student-athletes need to take to register, be certified and complete in NCAA Divisions I and II athletics. Please encourage your school's coaches and any nonscholastic coaches you may be connected with to complete the valuable educational module. Registration is required but the course is free.
